An Undeniable History
Western civilization flourished in large measure due to the skills of its blacksmiths. In fact, the establishment of a good smithy was crucial to survival. The blacksmith forged all the necessary ironwork: everyday tools, nails and bolts, plows and farming equipment, kitchen appliances, pots and kettles, and weapons for hunting and defending the settlement. Whenever anyone needed an item to be made with strength, durability and quality, they turned to the local blacksmith.
